So as part of a talk I’m giving with two teammates this Saturday we’re going to demo the Polymer starter kit.

One issue we encountered is that the security settings on our work-provided machines made some kind of issue with ssl fail on npm install and bower install.

Fortunately, I found the configurations needed to work around this issue for our temporary means.

For bower, you should add a configuration to your .bowerrc:

    "strict-ssl": false,
    "https-proxy": ""
}
